Well, that’s just been certified, and the controller won’t be out until late this year.

We do t need Thunderbolt 2 ports, because 3 is backwards comparable. Generally what we see with Thunderbolt, is one port on the controller that’s full speed, and the other being half speed, or less. What we do need is at least 4 full speed Thunderbolt ports. That’s an awful lot, and we really don’t need 8 Thunderbolt ports. The 8 Thunderbolt ports would require a full 4 Thunderbolt controllers.
